In this course we work with a variety of local hand dug clays, combined with foraged minerals, plants and plant ash. We’ll learn about processing and not processing clays, and ways to work with both. Experimentation and engagement with nature and soil is encouraged. You’re welcome to bring various materials of your own to add to your work/meaning.
We will do series of tests/test firings and experiments of small pieces as well as a slightly larger piece of approximately 15-50cm high. Glazes used are all plant based and foraged. Your work is ready for collection 3 weeks after your booking. If classes are very full or work has a thick clay wall, we may require extra drying time.
